REFRACTORY BRICKS

Refractory bricks are called fire bricks also. These can resist high temperatures without melting and are manufactured from the refractory clays. These are mainly used for the lining of the interior furnaces, fireplace, kilns, boilers, combustion chambers, etc.  It is subjected to high temperatures. Refractory bricks should withstand high pressure, low thermal conductivity, resistant to abrasion when hot and sufficient resistance to the action of hot gases. The mortar used for lying the refractory bricks should be prepared from the fire clay and should have sufficient strength when dry.
