Ashlar Stone Flooring (ASF)



The stone masonry in which finely dressed stones are laid in cement or lime mortar is known as Ashlars stone masonry.
This type of masonry is used for heavy structure architectural buildings, high piers and abutment of bridges.
The cost of this type of masonry is very high as it required a dressing of stones.

Composition -
The composition of an artificial stone are listed -
i)Crushed stone.
ii)Sand.
iii)Cement.
iv)Coarse aggregate.
v)Water.

Construction -
Artificial stones are made by mixing crushed stone, sand, and cement in definite proportions of one part of cement with 2 or 3 parts of sand and 4 to 6 parts of coarse aggregate and a measured quantity of water according to requirement.
